Who writes the guides

Astrid Holm, e-commerce specialist

Astrid Holm has managed Shopify stores for Danish furniture and design brands in Copenhagen since 2018, including one that now ships to 14 countries. She has set up Shopify Markets twice from scratch and documented every setting that changed the customer's checkout. She writes the international selling and currency guides here from those setups. She does not cover customs brokerage.

Caleb Turner has built Shopify stores for small brands from Portland, Oregon since 2017, about 110 launches, most under 500 orders a month. He has walked more than 200 store owners through setup checklists over screen share and keeps a log of every step where they got stuck. The step-by-step guides here come from that log, checked against Shopify's documentation. He does not cover migrating from other platforms.

She has made every beginner mistake a guide here warns about, including setting up shipping zones that quoted $0 to Canada for four months. Miguel Santos has developed Shopify themes from Lisbon since 2016, contributing to about 70 storefronts. He has rebuilt three slow themes back under a 2-second load and kept the before-and-after speed reports, plus the list of theme edits that caused the slowdowns. He writes the performance and theme customization guides here. He does not build custom apps or take client work from readers.

Noora Virtanen has managed Shopify storefronts for Finnish outdoor and apparel brands in Helsinki since 2019, including one B2B wholesale channel doing 30% of revenue.
